Zak Greant
MySQL Community Advocate, MySQL AB

This in-depth tutorial will rely on a combination of live training and web-based study to cover the following key topics:

  • indexing (including full-text indexes)
  • transactions
  • replication
  • large-scale deployments using MySQL

There will also be a few minutes spent to cover coming attractions like sub-selects and stored procedures.

Web Materials

The supplementary materials for the tutorial include a survey, a test and a set of pre-tutorial lessons.

Survey

The survey allows the tutorial participants to communicate their interests and needs to the tutorial presenter before the tutorial takes place.

Test

Potential attendees can take the tutorial test to see how well their knowledge compares with the content of the tutorial and the supporting course materials.

Pre-Tutorial Lessons

Each topic will have a lesson associated with it. Less experienced database users can expect to spend several hours on each lesson.

Each lesson will be graded to help the participant ensure that they have a solid grasp of the material.
